Clive and Chrissie Maclaren – Food and Friends Leaders
Having started in January 2014 as a ‘soup and roll’ lunch, Food & Friends now offers friendship, a listening ear and a non-judgemental approach, as well as providing free-of-charge hot meals and refreshments from 12 noon until 2.00pm every Friday. We intentionally provide the above for marginalised members of the community, who may struggle with finances, health problems, mental health issues, addictions or loneliness.
Food & Friends also has board games, pool, table tennis and an art table. Once each month, Christians Against Poverty (CAP) provide a debt advisory clinic, and we signpost to agencies and other charities like FUSS, Foodbank and CAB as needed.
